After living and teaching on the Island of Hawaii for 15 years she moved to India for a year to deepen her practice of Ashtanga Yoga with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Sharath Rangaswamy, and Saraswati at AYRI in Mysore. Upon her return to the US she recieved her Nia White Belt certification in Portland, OR from founders Debbie and Carlos Rosas, completed the Yoga Ed instructor training, and spent 6 months studying Ashtanga with Cathy Louise Broda in Honolulu. During this transition time, she felt Kauai calling as her new home, her place of refuge for over 20 years...
In May of 2009 she completed the Nia Blue Belt training, so is now a certified Blue Belt level instructor.
Settled on the North Shore of Kauai, she's happy to be a part of the Kauai yoga and dance community. Her classes support students to deeply explore the physical and internal aspects of yoga, emphasizing the connection between movement and breath / body and Spirit. Always a student and grateful for the transformative power of yoga in her life, sharing the gifts of Yoga, Meditation, and Nia with others is a great honour and joy.
Her other passion is youth activism- see Youth Projects. She mentors young leaders in Hawaii and internationally and serves on the board of the Global Youth Center Hawaii.
