Yoga

In addition to bringing yoga to young people in schools, Veronika has volunteered at the bi-annual World Youth Congress events held in Honolulu, Morocco, and Scotland since 1999. She helped organize Hawaii's youth delegation for the last congress held recently in Quebec, and will do so again for the next congress scheduled for Turkey in 2010. She has mentored delegates, facilitated program and skills sessions, and taught yoga at these events.

In 2001 she created a Yoga PE program for Parker High School in Waimea on the island of Hawaii, which was very successful. The following year she helped create the North Hawaii Youth Coalition. This organization engages high school students to make positive changes on issues that concern them in the community and the world. The Coalition continues to grow and conduct various youth action projects in Waimea today, including a community recycling campaign.

Upon her return from India last year, Veronika helped form the Global Youth Center in Honolulu that will create and coordinate education and action projects on local and global issues with youth from around the world. Currently she is developing a Sustainable Living and Yoga Ed curriculum for young people on Kauai.

She is dedicated to helping the next generations feel empowered to make a difference and "be the change they want to see in the world" .
